· Lean manufacturing working experience is critical. · International experience is a plus. · Must have great leadership skills and be able to hold individuals accountable for performance · Have excellent interpersonal, time management, decision-making and conflict management skills Job Duties: The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for determining production needs, managing material flows/inventory, and meeting customer service standards in the North American operations. In addition the incumbent shall be responsible for the day-to-day execution of the necessary activities to meet World Class safety and service goals under Lean principles. Anticipate minimum of 20% travel. Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities: · Manage the day- to-day operations of Materials Management to promote efficiency and effective plant operations. · Manage customer communication and supply chain processes to ensure optimal customer service standards are met. · Determines production needs and manages material flows and inventory in the plant. Specifically, reviews customer releases to determine production needs, ensure materials are ordered to meet production requirements under lean principles, ensure Material Planners are utilizing customer forecasts for planning purposes, and reviews production schedules to meet changes in material supply requirements · Directs movement of materials through the facilities under lean principles. Specifically, working with the team to coordinate acquisition of material, receipt and storage of materials and movement of raw materials through plant. · Responsible for warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, warehouse stocking, line stocking and 5s activities ensuring all materials are properly stored and inventory levels are properly maintained and inventory is accurate. · Determines production needs and manages material flows and inventory in the plant. Specifically, identifying shipping needs; researches, collects and negotiates agreements with shipping providers. Arranges for shipping companies to pick up goods as needed. · Develop and implement overall logistics plan, in a manner that promotes low cost, high inventory turns and a safe, efficient material flow within the facilities. · Learn, teach and lead by example utilizing continuous improvement techniques of the Toyota Production System or similar. · Maintains and develops key metrics to drive continuous improvement · Supervise materials personnel and perform annual performance evaluations and career development activities. · Develop and manage departmental budget. · Identify best practices both within and outside of the organization that can be used to accelerate the development in quality and innovation with respect to packaging. · Must maintain high ethical standards to support a professional business code of conduct Comments: Client is a world leader in specialty chemical marketplace.
