Job Duties:

Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering program to achieve customer reliability and logistics requirements. Analyzes projected products utilization and calculates cumulative effects on individual component reliabilities on final system reliability. Drafts Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) or formulates mathematical models using computer aided equipment, to identify units posing excessive failure risks and to support proposed design changes. Advises and confers with the design engineers in design review meetings provides reliability findings and recommendations. Review engineering specifications and drawings, proposing design modifications for improved reliability within cost and performance requirements. Monitors failure data generated by customer for potential product improvement. Creates and implements a reliability program for large projects and manages the reliability program for multiple projects. Able to accomplish hands on reliability modeling and incorporate results into Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). Prepares Provisioning technical Documentation. Draft Reliability and Maintainability reports using MIL_HDBK-217 and Reliability Data. Prepare life-cycle3 cost analysis. Determines Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). Program for new test equipment using LabVIEW and trouble shoot programming for existing test equipment controlled by LabVIEW. The primary product is aircraft accessory gearing, actuation, and helicopter transmissions and drive systems, as well as other geared system applications in the marine and industrial areas. The successful applicant will have strong people skills and leadership qualities, and be capable of working with a design team recommending design or test methods of attaining customer specified operational reliability, using knowledge of reliability engineering and other technology. This person must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
